It's tough for Australia to break new ground.

The highest peaks have long been mastered.

This is the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, plus an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the record chasers, are all that remain for a squad that has achieved everything.

That it took until Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the highest in the women's 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the bowlers that have represented Australia over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their hitters to maintain a record if not provided the possibility.

Ultimately, the consequence of Australia allowing 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy being given an opportunity to produce her most recent brilliance.

"A chance to take the field and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun in that regard, sort of got me going," commented Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at the World Cup - and her hundred in 84 as she punished short deliveries, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

Once she was out Australia needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"Pursuing 330 is uncharted waters so I am glad we have the confidence to accomplish that now," stated Healy further.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, if necessary, we know we can achieve it."

Those words will be the last Australia's opponents at this tournament want to hear.

During the last week a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this success coming after success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite being 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.
